Having a baby with GERD is very stressful. It's a bit hard to handle! My baby is 4 weeks, very hard all day, poor sleeping habits, projectile vomiting occurs atleast 5 times a day, and between then regurgitated. This is not increasing weight. He went from a formula based on soy milk, or labor. Now he is on Nutramigen LIPIL and appears to have minimal effect. Any help? We are constantly burp, which is right at least 22 hours a day! Nothing seems to work. We was the thickening of the formula 2 1 / 2 weeks and has no effect. Taking Reglan, no effect. All we can do we are not already doing? He sleeps in a recliner and it's just a horrible thing to handle. Please tell me someone has seen this agreement and now everythings ……. Thank you all for the info. My baby was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis is today a major relief. Its most common in children. If anyone feels that their child may, it is worth asking the doc.
Not had a baby with reflux, but I have severe GERD .. I literally sleep in a vertical position, every night, and can be very uncomfortable at times. Make sure there is no pressure from any back or sides, and that irritates the stomach, and sleeping upright all night long neck hurts, I suggest you put a mini studio pillows around your neck while you sleep. That more samples Small frequent meals to prevent vomiting. I have a very difficult time gaining weight because my metabolism and my GERD combined. Moreover, after dinner, I make sure to stay awake 2 to 3 hours before bedtime, and I do not take an hour before bedtime. The lower amount of food and liquid that I have in my stomach to sleep I'm having less discomfort. So try not to give a lot of milk before bedtime. Could be useful. Try to find a new technique to reduce your baby's sleep without bottle feeding. If all else fails, there is a tie perceger where the cardiac sphincter so strong that these symptoms do not occur so often. Unit cardiac sphincter prevents food and fluid into the esophagus causing acid reflux. I think I did. Good luck and best wishes for your baby!
"I can switch to Enfamil Enfamil Lipil for babies with gas and fussin?
My baby is almost 2 months drinking Enfamil Enfamil, but I want tto know if he is allowed to changeit Enfamil for babies with gas and fussin? Until the milk nutrients?
I do not know if nutrients are not exactly, but I know the big brands (Enfamil, Similac, etc.) have all the right products. My baby had to go too. Having started on Similac Advance, I had to go to another mark by several months (Neocate) due to an allergy to milk proteins. The next step was Similac Alimentum for many months before they can return to regular Similac Advance. No, the ingredients are exactly the same in all three products, which explains why his stomach could actually tolerate Neocate and more later, the Alimentum. But it is extraordinarily strong, clear, and grows well. No nutritional deficiency it. (If today a health check) Please note that your baby is out of gas and be demanding and pain for several months may limit its development much more than change the formula, because the child is too uncomfortable to participate socially and pay close attention what is happening around them. My baby did not even look into my eyes before moving, and social skills are not on track at all. But after the new formula, clearly felt better and has made amazing progress. Now, he is okay! As others have said, consult your doctor first.
that formula is a blend of dha and ara nutrients found in breast milk with iron…i wonder how was it? cause my newborn son had a soy formula problems with his pooing.. im trying give him different formula see if its will help him out…
with both of my older boys I would supplement and they would always be constipated. The only formula that worked was Good Start. It has comfort proteins that isn’t in other formulas. It’s a bit more expensive but the closest I’ve seen to breast milk. It doesn’t have all of the little bubbles that cause gas either.
Enfamil Gentlease Lipil – The best formula for your fussy baby
My little boy is 3 months old, and until yesterday, he was eating just fine with the occasional spit up and always burps at feedings. Yesterday, after every feeding he was spitting up, and a lot too. He was acting normal and doesnt have a fever or anything. He has been formula fed on Similac Advanced Iron formula for about 2 months, so why is he spitting up like this? Could he need to switch formulas?
Is he spitting up when you lie him down? If so, then that would make me think he has acid reflux. Try keeping him in an upright position during and following his feedings and see if this helps at all. It can be done. My daughter was breastfed exclusively and I had to keep her in an upright position during the feeding and for 30 minutes after every feeding. The downside is she got spoiled from being held so much but it did stop the reflux and made her a much happier baby. It is definitely worth a trip to the doc to see what he suggests. Best of luck to you!
what are the effects of switching infant formula from the other? is it safe?
I’ve been using Mylac Excel Stage 1 for 4 months now with my son. However I received 2 cans of infant formula, one Similac Advance and the other Enfamil Lipil with Iron from the States. My pedia says it’s okay to use these formulas and then go back to Mylac Excel again but what are the possible effects on the baby? Please base it on your experience and your “so-called” knowledge on infant formula.
Sorry, I don’t have a whole ton of help for you. But I do want you to have an answer, so I’ll give you my experience.
First, let me tell you that my son has Hirschsprung’s Disease. And without going too much into detail, it just means that his intestines/tummy are a little more irritable than the normal baby.
But we have switched formula on him a couple of times. He started on Enfamil Lipil. Switched to Similac because we had a free can. He ended up with a TON of gas and spit up. Switched back to Enfamil. Things were great. Then we switched to Nestle Great Start because (a) the doctor said it’s easier on his tummy and (b) my brother works at Nestle and can get it super cheap. He ended up with the stomach flu at the same time and ended up in the hospital – the doctor said that the formula switch could have contributed to his problems.
Again – - some people say that baby could be just fine with formula switching. My son is an example that it doesn’t always go so well. From now on, I’ll be donating extra formula to homeless or women’s shelters to babies who really need it. I’ll be sticking to one formula so as to not cause issues with my own munchkin.
